Jumpers for Joy

It already feels like the middle of December to me. Not sure why but Christmas seems to have come along extra early this year. Actually I do know why, I started putting my decorations up in the middle of November.....and I've nearly finished my shopping. My god I hate people like me. I have even started wearing my Christmas jumper already and in the true spirit of giving at Christmas I thought I would give you some seasonal sweater ideas so you can at least cross one thing off your to-do list.

Firstly let's deal with the mother of all Christmas jumpers; the Save the Children charity selection at Matches. Each jumper has been designed by a duo of designer and muse from Bella Freud and Kate Moss to Christopher Kane and Poppy Delevingne. Therefore you already know they will be divine and come at a premium. Christmas is all about doing things for others though so rest assured that £100 of that platinum price tag goes to Save the Children.

Never fear there are plenty of other options. This Topshop offering has flown off the shelves - literally sold out of anything larger than a 6 within 24 hours - but I'm almost positive they will have a re-stock.

If you want something with a little more sparkle then look no further than M&S. Every year Marks and Sparks showcase a great selection of jumpers for the whole family. I love these sparkly santas.

Winter calls for a lovely chunky knit and this Gap jumper will keep you toasty warm on chilly days. It also comes in cream but I like the dark grey. Pair with skinny jeans and boots. Oh and it's also on sale. Result.

The fairisle sweater makes a comeback year after year and this little robin pattern from French Connection is so cute. Pair with a metallic skirt and boots for a fabulous festive day look.

If you're after something a little more subtle that isn't just for Christmas then Hush have some lovely pieces. This one has a rock and roll vibe to it especially when paired with leather skinnies or distressed black jeans.

The perfect Christmas jumper isn't going to mean your tree won't fall down or your turkey won't be underdone or you won't want to run into the garden and scream at the top of your voice after you've heard your mother-in-law say 'Oh, you're doing it like that are you?" for the eighteenth time but hopefully it will bring a smile to your face.
